Q&A Workspace

The Q&A Workspace is where you review and finalize all answers for your fire risk assessment report. AI generates draft answers based on your findings, and you have full control to review, edit, and confirm each one.

Accessing the Workspace

From an assessment, click Report or Q&A Workspace to enter the workspace.

Workspace Layout

The workspace consists of:

  • Sidebar — Navigate between sections and questions
  • Question Panel — View the current question and answer
  • Findings Panel — See relevant findings for this question

Question Sections

Questions are organized into sections based on the assessment template (e.g., PAS 79-2):

  • General Information
  • Fire Hazards
  • Means of Escape
  • Fire Detection and Warning
  • Fire Fighting Equipment
  • Management of Fire Safety
  • And more...

Answering Questions

For each question:

  1. Review the AI-generated answer — Based on your findings
  2. Check cited findings — See which findings informed this answer
  3. Edit if needed — Modify the answer text
  4. Confirm — Mark the answer as reviewed

Answer Options

Depending on the question type:

  • Text answers — Free-form response
  • Multiple choice — Select from predefined options
  • Yes/No/N/A — Simple selection with optional notes

Quick Answers

For common responses, use quick answer buttons:

  • Yes — With standard positive response
  • No — With standard negative response
  • N/A — Not applicable to this premises

Generating Answers

Generate Single Answer

Click Generate on any question to create an AI-generated answer based on your findings.

Generate All Answers

Click Generate All to create draft answers for all unanswered questions at once.

Generation uses your recorded findings to create contextual, relevant answers. More detailed findings lead to better generated answers.

Progress Tracking

The workspace shows your progress:

  • Answered — Questions with confirmed answers
  • Draft — AI-generated answers pending review
  • Unanswered — Questions without any answer yet

Progress badges appear in the sidebar for quick status overview.

Cited Findings

Each answer can cite specific findings as evidence:

  1. Click Cite Findings on an answer
  2. Select relevant findings from your list
  3. Cited findings appear in the final report

Tips for Efficient Review

  • Use keyboard navigation to move between questions
  • Review by section to maintain context
  • Confirm straightforward answers quickly
  • Focus editing time on complex questions
  • Use the progress indicators to track completion

When You're Done

Once all questions are confirmed:

  1. Review the summary page
  2. Check for any missed questions
  3. Proceed to export the PDF report
